from me > to we > to common.unity

Dear Joscha,

The journey of me, to we, to unity is a very powerful process we have shared over the years to activate the seeds of common unity; the hearth at the core of any real community. It is an accelerated program that takes place over 3 stages to help you experience better relationships and deeper connection with yourself, your close circles, and your community of practice. At its core, it is a deep personal and collective exploration of the stories we tell ourselves and each other, which is something that must happen consciously for the bonds of community to properly form. We cannot do any meaningful work without first going through this cycle. It can take years of unsuccessful trial and error. Or, it can happen consciously in a concentrated and guided way, which is what this journey is all about.

Our process is loosely based on the Public Narrative* method developed by Harvard University professor Marshall Ganz throughout his long career as an organizer for several movements that shaped the history of culture and society. It blends in our own experiences of founding and co-founding several collaborations communities of practice over the past 15 years.

Facilitated by co-foundres Eda Carmikli and Markus Lehto in real life or online, it is a heart guided and open ended journey into your personal and collective transformation and evolution. Our aim is to help reveal the potential and possibility of what wants to emerge from you and your group.

Our intention is to tune our hearts towards more connection and trust. From there, we will help you sense into your collective courage, ideas, values, and talents to create new realities - and turn your good intentions into wiser actions.

“We need each other and our diversity of gifts to make life whole”. Mark Nepo

Below you will find more information about the process and the steps of our proposal. It has been kept intentionally simple for you to understand the basics and spark your curiosity for deeper discussion. Think of it as our starting point.

At the end you will find a link to our company Life Works Labs with more information about the work we do and some of the other experiences we offer.

Thank you for considering us for this responsibility, and we hope that we’ll have the chance to be together with you on your quest for deeper connection and wiser action. We would love to have a a quick zoom meeting anytime to introduce ourselves, get to know each other a bit, and make quicker progress.

Hoping you are enjoying magnificent summer lightness wherever you are,

Eda & Markus

What to expect…

  • This is a journey of re-connecting to people and re-aligning to the qualities that make life meaningful. It is a unique chance to invest into relationships and begin co-creating your community in real time, in real life, just as it should be.

  • Our stories connect us to our reality. But too often we just tell our bio or CV, and fail to leave out the more important details that have actually made us who we are. When we allow ourselves to share our values and inner drivers authentically, we create opportunities for synergy, serendipity, and miracles to become part of our reality. That is the power of our shared story, and why this work is important to all of us.

  • Truly creating something together is at the core of community. 'Love Needs a Project', and we all need to serve something greater than ourselves. Finding this Common Unity within our community makes it truly meaningful and very powerful.

  • With all that we’ve been through (and are still going through), from the pandemic to the politics, to the sheer speed of change, we need each other more than ever. In a world that is pulling us apart, we must create opportunities for stronger cohesion and connection. This journey is about the who, how, and here of it all!

It will be facilitated by Eda Carmikli and Markus Lehto, who have been creating intentional communities and global collaborative ventures since 2015 as the co-founders of Joint Idea, Life Works Labs, Love Mafia, and core members of Corporate Unplugged Forum, House of Beautiful Business, Katapult Future Fest, The Holist School of Life, The Circle, and many other communities around the world.

“*Public narrative is a leadership art composed of three elements: a story of self, a story of us, and a story of now. Stories not only teach us how to act – they inspire us to act. Stories communicate our values through the language of the heart, our emotions. By telling our personal stories of challenges we have faced, choices we have made, and what we learned from the outcomes we can inspire others and share our own wisdom. Because stories allow us to express our values not as abstract principles, but as lived experience, they have the power to move others.”
