A journey to the space between nowhere and now here

  • For Savoy Residents Only.

  • 20 people max.

  • December 18, January 8 & 15 Sunday: 15:00-18:00

We are all blessed to live in interesting times. Yet, we’re also challenged to make any sense of it all with the limited tools and deeply set patterns we’ve acquired throughout our lives.

It’s a constant struggle to accept everything as impermanent and awaken to the fact that none of us are getting out of here alive. We will eventually have to get used to that. In the meantime, we also have to get better at using the time and energy we have in this life on this planet - both alone and together - to reclaim our humanity while we still remember it.

Surely, we should not be the last generation on Earth to remember that we are more together than alone.  This has always been our greatest gift and power as humans.

The future will require a lot more from each of us than any of us are accustomed to offering today. We can all do this more skillfully and consciously, and the time is now to start.

As we unmask and head into the world to create our new realities, we invite you for some deep contemplation on what kind of life we actually want to be creating for ourselves, together, now.

2023 is approaching and wouldn’t it be nice if we get closer to each other, realize that we are not only households but also neighbors, and we can create magic collectively. We would love to experience this with you.

This journey cultivates fresh perspectives on your stories.

In Real Life.

This Journey will take place over 3 stages, comprised of IRL sessions that will help you experience better relationships with yourself, your close circles, and your community.

Together we will explore the stories we tell ourselves and each other.

Me (the ever evolving narrative of self), We (our extended self that shapes us), and Community (the container in which we operate in life, now).

This process is based on the public narrative* method developed by Harvard University professor Marshall Ganz throughout his long career as an organizer.

It will be a guided, yet open ended and open hearted, journey into our personal and collective transformation and evolution. Our intention is to tune our hearts towards better living and join our most inspired ideas into new realities.

We need each other and our diversity of gifts to make life whole. Mark Nepo

Why Should I Attend?

  • This is a journey of re-connecting to people and re-aligning to the qualities that make life meaningful. It is a unique chance to invest into relationships and begin co-creating your community in real time, in real life, just as it should be.

  • Our stories connect us to our reality. But too often we just tell our bio or CV, and fail to leave out the more important details that have actually made us who we are. When we allow ourselves to share our values and inner drivers authentically, we create opportunities for synergy, serendipity, and miracles to become part of our reality. That is the power of our shared story, and why this work is important to all of us.

  • It is a privilege to be a resident of Savoy. This is a rare complex that has many of the makings of a village. Here, an apartment can easily become a home and our neighbors can easily become cherished co-creators of our lives. Many of the key design ingredients for strong community are already here. But, they can only be brought to life by us.

  • 2022 is the year of 6, the year of LOVE and EXPANSION. With all that we’ve been through (and are still going through), isn’t it about time to do the things you love with the people you love? This journey is about the who, how, and here of it all! It will be facilitated by your fellow Savoy Residents Eda Carmikli and Markus Lehto, who have been creating intentional communities and global collaborative ventures since 2015 as the co-founders of Joint Idea, Life Works Labs, and Love Mafia.

The Steps

Step 1: Me | 'If I'm not for myself, who will be for me?'

Not your CV or bio, but the ‘real’ you. What were your turning points? What has made you who you are?

Step 2: We | 'If I am for myself alone, what am I'?

How does ‘we’ work for you? Who is your ‘we’? Who makes you who you are?

Step 3: Community | ‘If not now, when?

Define your community of practice, those special people you can execute your life work with. What is urgent enough that will you devote yourself to it?

What We Will Experience

  • intentional and focused facilitation that helps deepen your thinking, feeling, and magnetism

  • powerful feedback loops by coaching and being coached by other participants

  • learning to see yourself more clearly and express yourself more authentically

  • extending your empathy and compassion, opening up more joy

  • planting seeds for friendships and real community, creating lifelong support and connection

  • the mechanics of public narrative, which we can apply to all relationships in our life

“*Public narrative is a leadership art composed of three elements: a story of self, a story of us, and a story of now. Stories not only teach us how to act – they inspire us to act. Stories communicate our values through the language of the heart, our emotions. By telling our personal stories of challenges we have faced, choices we have made, and what we learned from the outcomes we can inspire others and share our own wisdom. Because stories allow us to express our values not as abstract principles, but as lived experience, they have the power to move others.”

Marshall Ganz / Harvard University / Kennedy School of Government
